Wale Booking

Hip-Hop Artist

Wale is one of the hottest rappers in the game right now, he has been recording hit after hit. He started out as what people consider to be a backpack rapper but has since killed that status, and is just churning out hits. Venues like the House of Blues regularly host him, and promoters are booking Wale for shows all across the world.

Wale first recorded song was “Rhyme of the Century” which was played on local radio and lead to him getting featured in The Source as the Unsigned Hype in 2006. He was signed by a local label called Studio 43 in 2006 and released the popular song Dig Dug, which blew up across the DMV area. This also made Wale the first artist in the area to get BDS spins on the radio since DJ Kool. The song was on his first mixtape Paint a Picture. His career was pushed further when he linked up with Daniel Weisman who was a popular DJ and promoter in the area. After being known as a go-go rapper, he released Uptown Roamers, which broke the trend. The song was played on XM Radio, and would be featured on his next mixtape “Hate Is the New Love”. Club owners were rushing to get the Wale booking price to see if they could set him up for a few shows in the area. His sound was really forming what would be the DMV sound.

Wale released the single “Good Girls” to radio that got some traction but it was when he appeared on the Mark Ronson remix of UKs Lily Allens popular single “Smile” that his profile was boosted further. He was a headliner on Ronsons tour, and was signed to a production deal with his record label, Allido Reocrds. Wale would go onto release his mixtape 100 Miles and Running as a free download, and the mixtape featured many popular UK artist like Amy Winehouse, Daniel Merriweather, and Lily Allen. Wale performed at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards, and it made him one of the hottest artists to watch in the game. He would gain a lot of press, and be covered by magazines like URB and XXL. He would go onto sign with Interscope to release his debut album. But before he would release the album, he released the Seinfeld inspired mixtape, The Mixtape About Nothing. Many people were already booking Wale, and searching for information on when his album was going to come out so they could start setting things up. He released 1 more mixtape before the album called, Back to the Feature, which was produced mostly by 9th Wonder. The mixtape featured many of the popular rappers at the time including Currensy, J. Cole, Joell Ortiz, and Bun B. The mixtape gained positive reviews and people were really watching the Wale booking information to see where he would perform next.

He released his debut album in 2009 and it sold just 28,000 copies in the first week making it a flop in many peoples eyes. He had singles with Gucci Mane and Lady Gaga, but that didn’t seem to help. His career would be on the up and up again once he collaborated with Waka Flock Flame and Roscoe Dash on the song “No Hands” which blew up the charts. He released another mixtape called More About Nothing that featured rappers Wiz Khalifa, Waka Flocka, and Black Cobain. He began prepping for what would be his next album, and the one, which would bring all eyes on him.

He signed with Rick Ross label, Maybach Music, which also included Meek Mill and another rapper at the time called Pill. He also was aligned with Jay-Zs label Roc Nation Management that had Melanie Fiona, J. Cole, and Rihanna. He began building anticipation for the album, and everybody wanted to reserve Wale for his events. He released his mixtape, The Eleven One Theory in 2011 and it shut down the file-sharing site Hulkshare because of the amount of traffic brought to the site. He had a huge hit with Lotus Flower Bomb and this song was huge on the radio. Wale had become one of the hottest rappers in the game at this point and everybody was playing his music.

After the successful release of Ambition, he began prepping for his next album, The Gifted. The album has already spawned a huge single with Bad and will surely have people wondering what the Wale booking price is now. The album is set to feature fellow rappers French Montana, Nipsey Hussle, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, and Meek Mill. The world is waiting for this album.

Wale released his album “The Gifted”, and it shot to #1 on the charts, and moved Kanye Wests album and J.Coles album lower in the charts. The success of the album has only made Wale more popular, and its no surprise that he is getting bookings worldwide. He is currently riding on the success of his most recent single “LoveHateThing” featuring Sam Dew.
